Dr. Lizarralde est membre fondateur du réseau i-Rec (information et recherche pour la reconstruction). Il est également membre du Conseil International du Bâtiment (CIB), du Project Management Institute (Chapitre Montréal) et de l’ordre professionnel des architectes de la Colombie.

Dr. Lizarralde dirige aussi le séminaire hebdomadaire de recherche en gestion de projets d’aménagement, Groupe de recherche IF – grif et il encadre des étudiants à la Maîtrise en aménagement et au Ph.D. en aménagement. Dr. Lizarralde a aussi été enseignant à l’Institut d’urbanisme de l’Université de Montréal, à l’Université McGill, à l’Université du Cap (Afrique du Sud) et à l’Université Javeriana (Colombie). Il est régulièrement conférencier invité dans diverses universités.

Intérêts de recherche

Gonzalo Lizarralde est directeur du grif – le Groupe de recherche IF. Le grif étudie les processus liés au développement de projets d’aménagement en général - et d’architecture en particulier. Dans ce cadre, ses recherches portent sur la planification, le montage, la gestion et l’évaluation de projets d’aménagement.

Ses intérêts de recherche incluent en particulier l’habitat et les solutions de logements économiques, la performance et l’évaluation de projets de construction, et le processus de reconstruction durable à la suite de désastres naturels, notamment dans les pays en voie de développement.
